Research

Our research is carried out within the Manchester Architecture Research Group (MARG).

We are particularly interested in:

  • architecture and politics;
  • networks of expertise;
  • design processes and users;
  • architecture and the Anthropocene;
  • architectures of temporality;
  • event/media architecture.

We draw upon a wide range of interdisciplinary research interests through our ongoing collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). We also have research links to discipline areas such as:

  • archaeology;
  • art history;
  • popular culture;
  • structural engineering.

The opportunities we provide for collaborative architectural research are unparalleled, and research bids in a variety of disciplines are strengthened by the involvement of our researchers.
