Across all of our operational activities in the School we try to ensure that we are undertaking responsible and ethical processes.
In many cases this is tied into our work on environmental sustainability, but in other cases it is tied in to our aim to support staff working within the School to develop and grow within their roles.
The School has development guidelines to implement responsible procurement of goods from stationary, to materials for our workshops and laboratories. We are also working on both reducing food wastage from catered events, and encouraging the use of more sustainable food choices (like meat free platters).

The School has an aim of moving towards paper-lite operations in the administration of activities like student admissions, staff recruitment and assessed work submission. It is also aiming to move towards paper-lite meetings with electronic agendas and papers supplied as the norm.
Staff development and training
The School supports all staff in development and training, with access where possible to internal and external training opportunities. We are currently working on the provision of tailored support for underrepresented groups within the School as part of our ongoing equality and diversity activity.
Equality of opportunity
As a School we are committed to offering a variety of funding opportunities to open up the chance to study to students from across the world.
We are also committed to working on extending opportunities within the workplace and as part of a wider University programme, we have recently appointed a SEED apprentice to work within the administrative PSS team.
