On choosing my course at Manchester

I was drawn to the course because of the Applied Study Periods (ASP) across the three years, where we were able to gain valuable industry experience.

On how the course helped me launch my career

Henry Thorpe

I guess nobody plans to do what I do, but I knew I wanted to do something different and not go and work in an industry where the majority migrate to - the course helped direct me to this.

My current company is where I took my final year ASP.

The experience allowed me to show my skills and therefore, the course gave me the opportunity to find my career path and then allowed me to excel when the time came.

The course does everything it can to stay in touch; it offers support and maintains a network of alumni so that you can still benefit from the diverse range of people and their skills that are on the course from your own year or other years.

On my advice for students considering this course

Do it!

It is one of the best courses out there to develop the practical 'work-related' skills that you would need for the workplace and your career.

Absorb everything that the course has to offer as everything has a purpose.

Finally, use the course as a resource and invest in it.

The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
