University open days

The University holds open days for our undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes throughout the year.

Open days provide potential applicants with a chance to look around the campus and find out more about the course you are interested in.

If you visit campus on an open day, then the admissions team will give a detailed presentation about applying and studying here. Members of the admissions and administration team will also be available to answer any queries you may have.

Parents and teachers are also more than welcome to attend.

Train to Teach

The University of Manchester’s PGCE tutors attend the Department for Education’s Train to Teach events in Manchester and across the UK.

The events are designed for anyone who has a degree and is interested in teaching. It offers a great opportunity to get all your questions about teacher training answered.

Twilight sessions

Come to one of our free twilight sessions for information and guidance on teaching in the UK, putting together an application, and studying on the course.

Please email pgce@manchester.ac.uk to register your interest.

School taster sessions

We work with schools in the local area to provide primary and secondary teaching taster sessions.

This involves spending a full day at a school for the opportunity to attend an assembly, sit in on a lesson and discuss postgraduate teacher training with a current headteacher and staff from The University of Manchester.

Please email pgce@manchester.ac.uk to register your interest.

PGCE drop-in sessions

If you are unable to attend any of the above events and would like more information or to speak with an academic tutor, please get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
