Open to all subject areas across the University, although priority will be given to the following areas of study: Life Sciences; Natural Resource Sciences; Production Science and Innovation; Social Sciences; and Arts and Culture.

Maximum possible duration:

  • Undergraduate 7 years
  • Masters 2 years
  • PhD 4 years
  • Post-Doctorate 2 years
  • Medical specialisms from 1- 5 years

Continuation of the award is subject to satisfactory progress.

At the moment (Feb 2013) there is no limit to the number of scholarships provided.

Other eligibility criteria

Applicants must hold an offer of study at The University of Manchester before applying for this funding.

Candidates must be Ecuadorian citizens (living either in Ecuador or abroad)

Please see SENESCYT website for details. In order to apply to this scholarship the person must first hold an acceptance letter for the programme he/she wants to study at Manchester.

Applications are open permanently all year

Additional information

Students awarded the scholarship are required to return to Ecuador to work for the double of time of their period of studies in the UK.
