Applied Study Periods

Applied Study Periods are core units throughout each year of the course. They help you put the theories and skills you learn into practice.

What are Applied Study Periods?

Applied Study Placements are similar to professional placements or industry experience. They are supported by Management, Leadership and Leisure staff and contribute towards your grade for the year.

They are carried out as follows, at an organisation within the UK or abroad.

  • Year one - Two-week placement completed in January.
  • Year two - Four-week placement completed in Semester Two.
  • Year three - Ten-week placement completed in Semester Two.

During my time at Ear to the Ground, I assisted the Account Management teams in organising various types of events for their high profile clients, including the launch event of Samsung’s first curved TV at the Gherkin in London and organised the new Nike Winner Stays tournament campaign at various venues around London.

I assisted with active industry research for Phones 4u and their sponsorship of the Manchester Arena.

I created a social media toolkit to assist UEFA in launching their trophy ‘selfie’ application through various social media sites.
